Title: Horsehead from DSC
Post by: JohnP on Nov 19, 2006, 17:44:12
Hi All,

Below image of Horsehead taken at Tuesnoad on Saturday morning around 3.00am. It was a weird day - started with gale force winds then torrential rain & eventually clouds cleared by 11.30 to 12 midnight to reveal great skies..

Image was taken with SC3 through MN56 & represents sum of 15 X 90 secs exposures. The image is a lot better than my previous attempt ( I know you liked that one Chris....) but I'm still not happy. I had lots of problems guiding which is why stars are a little elliptical.. also I could only manage 22.5 mins of integration - 1.5 to 2 hrs would have been better. I'm sure I can do better with the webcam..

Anyway comments welcome - Cheers,  John.

PS - My big thanks go to Doug & Rose for helping me to put up my tent in the gale force winds.. I couldn't have managed without your helps - Thks..
