OK wanted to try some DSLR (one shot colour last night) - I decided to try Pleiades although wasn't expecting too much with local light pollution etc. My guiding was really playing up last night due to blustery conditions. In fact I was amazed I got anything at all.
Anyway image is 10 X 3min exposures ISO400 with CLS filter through ZS66. Frame was cropped & then reduced in size for display. All in all it's not too bad - It'll be good to try this again at DSC with darker skies & hopefully guiding working better so I can try some longer exposures..
Cheers, Any comments welcome, John

OK - After looking at the image for a while & from a few comments made I decided it was a little to Cyan coloured... so I adjusted colour balance in PS. I compared with other images of M45 I saw on the web so hopefully this is a little closer to its true colours. I know that colours are a very subjective/ individual thing & what one person may find OK another finds hideous. Anyway I think I prefer this 2nd version. Let me know if you prefer original or one below....

John how long did you cool down in between exposures?
I would be very pleased if I got that image!
Fay
Fay - I only cooled for 10 secs - basically enough time for the camera to save the raw image to the memory card. Unless you are going to wait minutes in between images I have never seen any real benefits in waiting too long - Just mean you take less exposures or get to bed later....
John
Between you and Mike shall we call this the WO ZS66 forum?
Nice and blue!
Cheers Chris - I can tone the blue down a bit in PS... not bad nebulosity for Bromley though.... :-)
Great image John - This one is on my ToDo list too !
Thks Mike - As you can see I have been playing with the colours - I might give this another go at DSC & see how much more nebulosity I can get... Cheers, John
