Title: A couple of clusters....
Post by: JohnP on Sep 09, 2006, 23:28:51
OK - Didn't really plan on imaging last night - just wanted to try out my new guide cam however, due to laptop problems I couldn't do that so had to settle for a couple of un-guided images. I wasn't expecting much due to full moon & high cloud. Images are as follows;

M15 (Globular cluster) - SC3+MN56+Astronomik CLS filter - 130 X 3 secs exposure AmpON - Max Gain.

Perseus - Double Cluster - NGC 869 & NGC 884 (Chi Persei) - SC3+ZS66+0.5X FR+Astronomik CLS - 90 X 5 secs AmpOff - Max Gain. Note: This was my first time to use the SC3 on the ZS66 - it wouldn't focus at prime so I had to image through a right angle mirror..

I also had a go at the elephant trunk nebula ... This was tough given the full moon & no guiding... I'm still trying to process this but it's bad... I will post my attempt later...

Cheers, John
