Title: Please help our Essex amateurs turn off the lights, and vote
Post by: Whitters on Jul 26, 2006, 22:12:09
Paul,

Since Essex is neighborouring to Kent and can affect your skies, you may be interested in the proposals from Essex County Council to turn off street lights after midnight. There is an on-line poll for the local newspaper (Essex Chronicle), members from Orpington are justified in helping our cause by voting in favour. (see link below) - the vote now stands at 84% in favour, 13% against but there has been a slight decline in the yes since yesterday. It is vital that we make our mark, especially as the results can be used against the policy if numbers started to look more negative again (they started off that way last week).

You can take part (hopefully agreeing with it !) at

www.thisisessex.com/vote

Thanks

if you can't get the link to work, go on the www.thisisessex.com main page then Essex Chronical from left hand list - somewhere you will find a section to click on for votes.
