Title: Bright object in the Sky
Post by: Tony G on Feb 04, 2006, 14:13:52
Hi all,
just to say the wife has just spotted a bright light in the sky which has not been seen for a while but it only was visible for about 5 minutes at about 1.10pm today, I then explained that it was the Sun and the only reason it hadn't been seen was because of the miserible weather we have been having lately.
if anyone else saw this phenomenon, don't be alarmed.

the amazing thing is, it was the evening after my visit to astrofest! usually a guaranteed washout. Having said that, it was SNAFU by 22:30...

Hi Tony,

I thought I saw something like this when I got back from the US this weekend, although it might have been the jet lag, let me explain.

When I got out of Heathrow I did see an attractive young lady without a coat and what appeared to be very wide trousers circa 1970.

I thought it was somewhat off that in the middle of winter such apparel should be chosen by such a young lass.

Do you know how this could happen?  Could they be Solar Flares out there?

Sorry
