Title: Test shots with the Vixen - 16th Sept 2005
Post by: Mike on Sep 17, 2005, 13:36:04
Ok here are two test shots I did last night. Three things I found with the new scope :-

1) Your alignment needs to be PERFECT.
2) CCD images come out MUCH brighter.
3) The scope is out of collimation.

M57 - Ring Nebula

NGC7662 Blue Snowball Nebula (I could see this nicely through the eyepiece - it's TINY!)

I'm going to need to collimate it properly first and to get tiny faint objects I'm going to need to perfect the tracking and alignment.

Look pretty darn impressive to me... Can't wait to see some more when you sort out the collimation issues - Looks like you have sussed the colour balance... very good.

Cheers,  John
