Title: A quick introduction as a new member
Post by: CallumM on Aug 14, 2025, 18:24:06
Hi everyone I am callum i have just joined O.A.S and am new to the hobby.

I am 33 and I have always enjoyed staring up at the great beyond, I find the universe so fascinating and intriguing. I thrive on learning new things and was clear from my taster session that I am among alot of very knowledgeable people.

For my other hobbies I love listening to music, reading, gaming and more uniquely entomology(yes studying and owning spiders and bugs) lol. I also love animals and learning zoology.

I do have adhd and autism so can sometimes be quite when meeting new people or can talk and fidget alot, if needed please feel free to tell me to take a breath lol.

I look forward to meeting you all over time

Great to have you on board Callum, thank you for telling us about your other interests and adhd and autism.  I am also interested in animals and Zoology and studied it A level.  Also love wildlife though not so much Arachnids, though I would never kill one just because I don't like it.

Whilst some of the society members do have a lot of knowledge, they are always happy to share both that and their enthusiam to get others involved, so don't be shy to ask.  We have a number of activities throughout the year, mostly Astro/science related and some social events.

I hope you will enjoy being a member of OAS, it is a very socialable club.
