Title: One sunny day, one clear night - Sun and vdB14,15 from Petts Wood
Post by: Roberto on Oct 19, 2023, 14:06:57
The couple of clear days and nights last weekend allowed me to finish this extended nebula in Camelopardalis and take a panorama (6-panels) of the Sun.  Seeing was not great but at least it was clear.

Sun Ha - 15 October 2023 - Full disc and a prominence

Showing AR13464 and 3465.  Details of acquisition (94mm f/7 refractor) here: https://www.astrobin.com/ehlj9j/B/ (https://www.astrobin.com/ehlj9j/B/)

Very nice images as always Roberto. Is the one from camelopardalis part of a larger complex?

Thank you Carole.  The red nebula to the right is part of Sh2-202 which is a large object.  The reflection nebulae to the left are separate. It's a nice contrast.

Check Steve Cannistra's version of a larger field:  http://www.starrywonders.com/sh2202.25.html

Thanks, I think it is the Nebula I had on my TO DO list some while ago, but decided against it in the end.

Just noticed the integration = 30h 15 over 7 nights.  Goodness me.  I have never done anything as long as that.  Wow

It was really made last weekend when it was clear for two nights straight.  The other nights it was an hour here or there.  Yes, 30hrs if you aggregate both scopes.  15hrs per scope which is the total "working" clear night time.

My record is 52hrs for the 9-panel mosaic of the Veil in Cygnus during lockdown in 2020: https://www.astrobin.com/7w1p07/N/?nc=&nce=
