Title: NGC7129 in Cepheus
Post by: Carole on Apr 25, 2023, 14:16:24
Have had this on the list for some time but was waiting for a chance at DSC.  It was very low in the sky early on but as all the Nebulae were dropping or only just rising I didn't have a lot of choice.

Should have used my ED120 but was already set up with my dual rig.

Dual Rig, ED80/Atik460EX & ~ED72/ATik460EX on HEQ5
Lum 27 x 600
RGB 40 x 150 binnedx2

Total imaging time 6 hours 10m

This is the full frame.  A rather different image from me as I normally do large nebulae.

This is a crop to get in closer to NGC7129.  Might try for some Ha later in the year as I think there is some in this area.

Very nice Carole - great colours.  8)  I like the close up a lot.  I did this one in 2020 trying to emulate Bart Delsaert's version from dark skies in France:  https://www.astrobin.com/412392/0/?nc=

Thanks Roberto, yes his was one I had book marked along with one or two others.  Of course they have access to regular dark skies, so could not get anywhere near their results.  I might try to add some Ha to it from home, but it is behind the houses at the moment, so will be some months down the line.
