Post by: Rick on Aug 06, 2018, 23:28:37
[BAA-ebulletin 01014] NLC Alert
(c) 2018 British Astronomical Association    http://www.britastro.org/

The clouds have cleared enough and I have NLC to 30dg in height and at least 90dg wide at 21.45UT 6th August 2018 at 57.35N. NLC should be visible to as far south as northern England and could go further.

Any reports please to - sandra-b at hotmail co uk

Cheers

Yeah, but the way of these things, sometimes "not very far south" can turn into "covering most of the sky" quite quickly.

I expect a site showing high-level winds might help identify likely areas. I wonder how much jet-stream affects NLCs.
