excellent photo Paul, but...

I notice some odd shaped flaring around the brighter stars and the general shape of the dimmer ones. Have you considered the stopping the lens down on relatively bright targets such as this and expose for longer? Lens performance is rarely best at it's most open.

Hi Paul,

Great image & glad to see that there were some images from the weekend. i didn't realise M13 was still around - must have imaged very early in the morning?

I agree however stopping down the Canon lens is a bit of a problem, I need to make an insert to press all the required buttons to fool it into behaving like a manual lens. IN fact I need to discover which buttons need pressing.

Hi all,

I think this is an excellent picture and definately one to aim for when its in the back garden so to speak.  Great picture Paul, get it on the forum.
