Title: Iris Nebula and lots of dust
Post by: MarkS on Aug 31, 2016, 23:25:36
Taken last night.  H-alpha modified Sony A7S on Tak Epsilon 180ED. 310 x 30sec at ISO 10,000 i.e. just over 2.5 hours of total integration time.

It still needs plenty more subs - but will we ever get another cloud-free night?

That's really great Mark, looks 3D without needing special glasses :) How do you find processing so many subs? Or have you got a Deep Blue hidden in the study?

PixInsight is the answer - I can chuck hundreds of subs into it and a few hours later it comes up with the final integrated image.  It does everything in floating point numeric representation unlike Iris.  Iris is not able to process hundreds of subs in one go.  Processing hundreds of subs is just normal to me now.
