Title: Transit of Mercury
Post by: Kenny on May 10, 2016, 20:13:52
Here are the 2 most usable images from my DSLR captures during oh so brief breaks in the clouds. DSLR 450D with Sigma DC 18-200mm lens @ full zoom with home made Baader film solar filter.

Active Region (Sun spot group) AR2542 also showing upper right. :)

12:20pm just after 2nd contact (first decent break in the clouds).

Not bad considering no telescope. :)

Thanks Jonathan. Not bad for a DSLR. I've prefer if it was Venus crossing the disc tho!
