Title: Image Processing Question
Post by: Roy on May 10, 2016, 17:58:51
I've got some new M13 data that I'm trying to finish off using Photoshop; but reading the good old Internet there seems to be differing advice as to whether one uses 'Levels' first then 'Curves', or vice versa. I've always used 'Levels' first, but I was wondering what others in the Society routinely do and why?

I usually do a couple of iterations of levels and then move on to Curves.

Look forward to seeing your image.

Hi Roy,

The best thing to do is use curves, but clone your image via layers and do multiple versions of the curves and then apply them back together as brightness layers.  If you do this you can pull out a lot of detail you cannot do on a single layer.  Also you can apply some sharpening around parts of more interest.
