Title: DSUSB cable for Nikon
Post by: Simon E on Nov 19, 2015, 11:07:59
Morning, people.

Need one of these cables?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efK1RCPaSoY

Watching this I can build one, so ordered all the parts?

My big question is this once built what port does the cable plug into?

I have 4 ports on my Nikon
MIC which is a jack plug
HDMI socket
USB/AV output
GPS

I was assuming that it would be the USB/AV output, this is the port I use for remote control of the camera, but after watching the video and having a look at the pictures on the shoestring astronomy site they seem to use the jack plug, which would be the Mic socket?

Any help would be cool

Thanks Si

Assuming that your Nikon is the D5000, then its the one that this plugs into.

As this is a link for a remote shutter release.

Have fun
