Title: The Cave Nebula Sh2-155
Post by: Carole on Sep 15, 2015, 18:03:41
My 4th and last image from Kelling.
This time I decided to capture the RGB with my DSLR

HaRGB
Ha 10 x 600 with Atik314L and ED80
RGB 19 x 300secs with Modified Canon 450D & ED120
HEQ5
Dual rig

Not over keen on the Salmon pink colour but any attempts to change this result in something worse.

I agree something isn't quite right with the colours, how did you apply the HA?

Can't remember now Ivor I did it at Kelling, I might have another bash at it when I have more time.

Well I like it. The cave and teh other dark nebulae show up really nicely.

Thanks Duncan.

I had another try at changing the colour, but doesn't seem to work very well with DSLR colour unlike narrowband.

There's good detail in the Cave but there does seem to bit a lot of colour noise - from the Canon RGB, perhaps?

Yes I think the noise is from the DSLR Mark and I think I got some DSLR banding as well which I tried to process out.
I had forgotten about that aspect.
