Title: OAG - Lost without instructions
Post by: Ivor on Dec 12, 2014, 23:04:44
I have been coveting an OAG for several years and I thought I got a bargainwith this little purchase
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-NEW-High-Quality-Off-Axis-Guider-with-Extra-Extension-Tubes-RRP-239-50P-/371213054174 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-NEW-High-Quality-Off-Axis-Guider-with-Extra-Extension-Tubes-RRP-239-50P-/371213054174) which I just won for under £60.

Now it's arrived, without instructions I'm struggling, I want to be able to able to connect my lodestar but I can't see how with the bits I achieve that as there no bits to lock it in.
It's appears to be exactly the same as the TS model sold by a number of vendors and so are the attachments but nevertheless I'm stuck, does anyone have any experience of these?

Does the larger metal disc attached to the prism section unscrew? If so your lodestar should just screw into the thread on that.

I would guess the guider connection is the usual C mount so you need and adapter for the lodestar to C mount

I dare say Google could help you find and dowload the manual for this.

Looks the same as the Telescop Service offering if that helps.

I thought that but it doesn't appear to be the case.

There appears to be a collections of adaptors on the TS site I think I'll give Bern a call on Monday.

Nah, C-mount (Lodestar end) to T-Mount, same as for my QHY5L-II. I had to get one from the USA (via Ebay). Those look like T-mount extension tubes and 2" focuser adaptor to me.
