Title: Laptop

If I get a laptop with Windows 7 or Vista on, can I just run an XP disc to change it?

More clever people will probably answer - But

It must be a full XP disk, not an upgrade.

When you get into the realms of W7, there may be bits of the laptop that won't work under XP - But

You can install XP fairly easily as well as W7 (that means you can choose what operating system to use when the PC starts) - Hard drives and USB should work fine, which is probably all you're worried about.

Have you taken your new wireless router out of the box yet ?  Just curious

na.

Windows doesn't let you downgrade.
Just get hold of a boot disk and then format the C drive:
Then when you install the xp disk it will install it.

Or you could try repartitioning the C drive and try installing the xp disk into the spare partition.

Either way i would make a note of all your devices.
So that you can get the drivers for them of the internet.

Mac.

Mac, isn't that what you tried to do on my VISTA and it wouldn't work?
