Sun Prominence animation

Hi All, have to say, solar imaging is just the most relaxing astronomy you can do, I was out capturing this sitting on a deck chair, working everything remotely from the laptop under glorious sunshine.

Anyway, this is a 23 frame animation of 500 frames taken at 2 minute intervals, stacked in registax and stabilized in shake.

Check out the fireballs colliding!!!!

Impressive Daniel - Don't suppose you done any calculations to detrmine how big those prominences are compared to say the diameter of the Earth...

Hi John, just whipped up a quick image for comparisson, the sun being 109 times wider across than the earth, which makes those "little" fireballs coliding with eachother probably the size of Asia!!!
