Title: 12V upto 18V
Post by: Tony G on Oct 20, 2009, 22:13:38
Due to the fact that my laptop has an un-standard plug, I was told how to get over the problem at UDSC.
What I need to know is, where would I get a converter that would step up from 12V to 18V.
Links appreciated  :-?

Get a mains inverter and plug the charger into that.  ;)

Much more handy, as you can use it for other things.

Yes but that is a very inefficient way of getting 19v.

Mark suggested this -

I beleive it's something his mates on the ISS put him on to.  It does all sorts of silly voltages and is more efficient than an inverter.
I've got one and it happily churns out 19v for my acer or 20v for my Systemax
