Title: Last night
Post by: Fay on Jun 25, 2012, 17:07:55
I setup the Leitz/ QSI, last night, was still light at 10.30pm.

I was going to do a wide field & I could not get the camera to focus. It had always been ok before. Infinity was the focus point, no leeway.

I had not set up for a long time & thought perhaps I used another adapter as well. as I needed more back focus. took it all to bits twice, adding spacers, to no avail, panic setting in.

After 2 hours, a thought came into my mind, that I had changed the 7nm ha filter for the Astronomik 12nm. The extra flared stars alerted me as well. took camera to bits changed filter & held my breath as the first sub downloaded, and thank the Lord, that is what it was, the 12nm filter.

Anyway it got to being too late to start, but had a quick download of Tulip and Crescent, which I want to get a wide field of, and also M16 area.

Anyway good job I had a practice before the dark nights come in, it is easy to forget connections etc etc etc.
