I have now got a Canon 600D, Sigma 10-20 lens, Hitech ND filter, and Lee adapters, filter holder.

I am not planning on modifying this camera, i want to hone my normal photography using ND filters etc etc. I needed live view as well, as cannot see the back of the 350D.

I will then buy a secondhand Canon to modify.

That's a typical zoom range for a wide angle.
