Been practising as Jupiter is getting close to opposition, shame the sky has been so murky and seeing not so good. I'm hoping it will be better around 7 April. Shine up your Barlows!

Great image Duncan!  You have a good amount of detail in there.

We're plagued with cloud here and I still haven't have a chance to try out my GPCam2 IMX224 :(

Mark

Carole

Some great detail there Duncan.

It looks a little out of focus, is that because of the seeing?  I always find focus difficult with planetary imaging, in fact I have pretty much given up on planetary imaging as I find it so difficult, possibly because I don;t have the right kit in the first place, but you're doing really well.

Thanks Carole, Mark, Julian and John.

It was focused using a nearby star and Bahtinov mask, but the bad transparency and seeing (the jet stream is coming right over us north-southish at the moment) prevented a sharp image being produced. I hope for better conditions next time there is some clear sky, early mornings tend to be better as well.

Fay

looks good to me Duncan, at least you are keeping in practice!!!!

It is healthier to be mutton dressed as lamb, than mutton dressed as mutton!

The Thing

Thanks Fay. Are you going to have a go at Jupiter with your LX90 8" ACF?
