Title: Leo triple
Post by: RSummerfield on Nov 27, 2022, 13:07:14
The Leo triple, this single image is a mosaic of 9 images, all taken within a few minutes of each other, combined together to create a field of view that is wide enough to enclose the "Leo triple". Each of the 9 images was viewed for about 5 minutes, so the total viewing time is 45 minutes.

Viewed using the Unistellar eVscope, on the 19 March 2022, in Chislehurst (Est. Bortle 7-8).

The eVscope is a digital telescope being a 450 mm focal length Newtonian telescope, with a 115 mm aperture (f/4), built into the eVscope is a Sony IMX224 sensor, the output of the sensor is displayed in the eVscope's "eyepeice".

The 9 eVscope images were combined using Photoshop.

This one definitely needs long exposure.  Presume you have used the longest and most you can use with this scope.

Interesting having a go at this type of target with this sort of scope. You should probably be thinking in terms of 25-30 'views' or subs at least, then you should start to see the full extent of the galaxies. I would download DeepSkyStacker (free) to combine the images and do the initial stretch then Photoshop to process the result, tweak colour and curves etc.

We would do several hours on these, but every little helps.
