If you encounter a spammer posting messages on the board (and usually this will only be in the
Introductions board) then please:
- Use the "Report to moderator" link (which you'll find at the bottom right of every post) once (and only once for any particular user).
- Please do NOT reply to ANY of the spammer's messages. No exceptions. Any reply you make makes the cleaning up harder.
Thanks.
P.S. The
Introductions board was invisible briefly, while I cleaned out the spewage...
What happened????????????????????????

An individual registered an account at about 4am(-ish) and set about posting a bazillion messages advertising all manner of fish and pork products with links and images to a variety of dodgy and unsavoury sites...
didnt see the fish or pork one's, just the Viagra and the usual enlargement ones.
Mind it was a bit obvious with 10 pages.
maybe it is time to change the new member bit so that you have to wait until your accepted before you can post.
How about just limiting the posts - It would become pretty obvious it was spam after the second post, or the 133rd
We've upped the bar on getting registered a bit, for the moment. I'll look into posting frequency filtering, but the board's post groups are geared the wrong way for limiting spammers...

Elliptical euphamisms, Mac. ;)
Carp is a fish and a common mis-spelling. Pork goes at least two ways, one of which is into spam, and another of which apparently sometimes requires enlargement... ;)
