Title: DSC 4th Feb
Post by: mickw on Jan 30, 2011, 11:02:56
Weather forecast shows wind and rain/showers tuesday and wednesday with extra rain and wind on friday and saturday  :-?
With westerly winds at 20+ MPH imaging will be a chore - good thing is it will be above freezing.

So, what to do.
Contact Rother Valley to say we might be down or
Just turn up at Blacklands if the weather changes for the better ?

Thoughts anyone ?

Mick,

If Blacklands is being considered, has anyone checked to see if it is open, as I thought that it was closed in February last year????????????

I think Blacklands is the better choice, given the likely soil conditions.  Though I prefer Rother Valley's darker skies!

20:30 at Blacklands if the wind forecast ameliorates, don't mind a little rain. I'm sure rother valley will be too slippery.

Stop using words I have to look up

If the forecast tomorrow morning is still crap, I will staying home.

Blacklands would be the less squidgy choice but with the wind coming from the SW Rother Valley would give better shelter

My question was rather tongue in cheek.  I don't have any intention of going - the forecast looks horrible.

Yeah i'd like to go, as it's been a while. But that wind looks mad. Rain is bearable in a tentm, but high winds are not at all pleasant.

Oh well, weather slightly improved on the wet front but winds still in excess of 30 mph.

Still cloudy wet and windy, a weekend of sulking in front of the TV is called for - with perhaps the comfort of beer.

I take it no one is actually going to go to either site?

The wind looks a bit OTT on Metoblue unless your flying kites (40kph). But if you look on Apanel it says moderate. Any on the spot weather reports?

I spoke to Chris, he said the wind was howling.  :o

I take that to mean it was a bit breezy  :-?

Decided to have a bonfire tonight to burn a load of rubbish generated by clearing the loft in preparation for the house-move.  Cooked a few sausages and burgers and watched Orion appear from time to time between the gaps in the fast moving clouds.

I think I'm pining for DSC!

We're still going for the original house.  We revisited and found somewhere we can site an observatory.

Chain above us is ready to exchange.  We're just waiting for our buyers to be ready.

Excellent, that's good news

Doesn't involve buying and extra house does it ?
