"One Show" on BBC1 right now - amateur photographers lined up to get a picture of constellations, Jupiter etc. from this dark site - the show will return to them later ...

MarkS

Winner was a image of the constellation Orion - complete with tree and orangey misty cloud.  It will appear in Sky At Night mag.

Mike

I know we've had a lot of cloud lately, but things must be getting really desperate if you've resorted to watching the One Show.

No-one seemed to ask the obvious question:

"If we're here taking photos because Brecon Beacons has just been declared an International Dark Site Site, then why are our pictures full of orange (light polluted) cloud?"

Carole

I wondered that.

Is it worth investigating a camp site for the Brecon Beacons at some point in the future?  Away from the Orange light, maybe they were on the edge of the BB.

There are many places in Wales that have great dark skies. Not that long a journey to reach South Wales.
