NGC7023 Iris Nebula

This was taken on Sunday night 091010. It was very clear, but dewy. I really wanted to do the Cocoon, it was at the zenith & I had a lot of mount & guiding problems. Wondering if it was due to it's position.  It stopped & then would not slew, had to restart a couple of times. Decided to change tack & ended up doing the Iris Nebula.
This was 8x600.(discarded 2) no flats, ED80, modified Canon 350D

It is healthier to be mutton dressed as lamb, than mutton dressed as mutton!

Very difficult target, this one.  The dusty bits are beginning to appear.  Again, this image would benefit from some darks.

Yes it is a very difficult one, colour balance looks a bit off to me.

I'm still at war with this object, you seem to have managed to bring the dust clouds out of the background nicely, really hard under our skies!

The jpeg compression seems to have mangled the image a little would love to see a less compressed version!
