Happy New Year! 2010 is starting with a bang here at the Hoyle Project with a new online exhibition of Hoyle papers and an upcoming public event.

**Fred Hoyle: An Online Exhibition**

http://www.joh.cam.ac.uk/library/special_collections/hoyle/exhibition/

View some of the Hoyle Collection online via this new exhibition exploring Hoyle's life and work. More than 50 images showcase some of the photographs, documents and artefacts housed in St John's College Library.

**Cambridge Science Festival**

The Hoyle Project is once again taking part in the annual Cambridge Science Festival. 'The Way to the Stars: 700 Years of Astronomy' is an exhibition and hands-on event taking place on Saturday 13 March. Come along to the beautiful Old Library of St John's College to see medieval manuscripts, seventeenth-century books, and nineteenth- and twentieth-century scientists' papers. Why not also book a place to build your own astrolabe and learn how medieval scholars examined the skies?

Find out more about the Science Festival online at http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/sciencefestival/. Booking for the hands-on event opens on 8 February. To book a place (on or after 8 February) please contact the Science Festival direct (tel. 01223 766766, email csf@admin.cam.ac.uk).

Best wishes,

Katie
