We are rescheduling the trip to Jodrell Bank on Saturday, 15th June 2013. This is a tentative date as we are awaiting confirmation of the date from the Coach company, but it should be okay. As the trip will be in a "high season", the cost may increase slightly and also if people wish to have a "tour guide" and a talk, then the cost could also increase. These details will be put on this post as soon as we have them.
Those members still wishing to go on the trip need to let us know at the next meeting. The existing list of members will be on the table; those members still wishing to go must indicate on the list and any members who are not on the list and want to go can add their names but we are limited to 39 persons. Also we need contact details from everybody in case of complications or unforeseen circumstances.
Keep an eye on this post for any further information.
Doug.

I'm OK for 15th June.
Count me in again.
Doug - Can you hold a place for my 14yr old son David please. He wants to come with me.
Cheers
Kenny
He`s on the list, Kenny, and if anyone else wants to come along, PUT YOUR NAME ON HERE or see Rose or myself at the next meeting.
Doug.
JUST A REMINDER ...
Meet at ORPINGTON STATION CAR PARK not the bus side ..... at 05.30hrs on the 15th JUNE 2013.
The coach will leave at 06.00 hrs promptly, so please be on time. Make sure that you bring some food and drink with you as it is a long day and the sustenance at the venue can be expensive.
We will be given a talk by one of the Observatory officers at about 12.30hrs about the Observatory and it`s various functions. There are still some empty seats on the coach if anybody else wishes to go. Please indicate on this Forum if you have any further people who wish to join us, and we will add their names to the list; they can pay the £38 on arrival at the coach.
Let us hope the weather is kind to us and it looks like an exciting day.
Enjoy yourselves.
Don't forget that this is tomorrow guys.
See you there at the ungodly hour of 5:30am
Thanks, Mike.

Thanks to Doug 'n' Rose for organising the trip!
Well what a great day out! Thanks a lot to Doug and Rose for organising the trip. It was great to see the dish up close. It's a lot bigger than I thought it was !
Yes, very enjoyable trip. Many thanks to Doug and Rose for excellent organisation.

Many thanks Doug and Rose for organising the enjoyable trip.
Thank you my lovelies for your hard work and patience in organising the trip.
Really had a good time........thanks again.
;)
Thanks Doug and Rose for organising such a great day and to Tom for collecting the money.
From Julian and the Crayford lot!
Rose and I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the Orpington members who came along and also to the Crayford Astronomical Society and Flamsteed members to help to make the party larger.
We felt the trip was excellent and an eye opener to see the actual dish, which was HUGE; also the gardens which were quite good, the talk which was interesting and how pleased we were with the coach and the two amusing drivers who did a good job in safely transporting us two and fro from Orpington and Jodrell Bank. Plus the weather was not too bad..... and it didn`t snow!!!
I will email the Coach company to let them know that we were happy with their transportation .... and the drivers.
Thank you all again for making the trip enjoyable.
Cheers, Rose and Doug.
