He's got a 16-inch Cassegrain and the first image I looked at involved 24 hours of exposures (presumably not counting the time for bias, darks and flats).

I think he has a 20 Inch cassegrain too. some of his images are close to hubble's, the sombrero galaxy image is incredible.

I guess he must get good seeing whereever he is located - 16 & 20 inch Cassegrains wouldn't be of much use round here.

...and the long exposure times would be a problem, too.

They are take in Namibia & Austria...............................enough said. A hell of a lot of his life has gone into these images. He has earned them. It is no good the likes of us looking at them as we could never attain that standard, & it just makes you cheesed off!
