Are you using Chrome on any other PCs ?

Is it behaving the same on each PC ?
Shut down the laptop before trying on other PC

Are you using the Sync thing in Settings ?

OK

In the meantime - something to try -
Shut down Chrome on all the other PCs

Go to the Toolbox and open Settings
Open Advanced Sync Settings
I assume you have a box "Sync Everything" - click the down arrow to the side of that (brings up options) and select "Choose what to sync" then uncheck the box for "Open Tabs" then click OK
Restart Chrome

See what happens

goto the spanner and goto the settings.

on the second selection down it says on start up, and then you have three options,

Open the New Tab page

Continue where I left off

Open a specific page or set of pages.  Set pages

Click on set pages and have a look.

that will give you a list of pages to open when Chrome starts up, Delete them all, and then add www.google.co.uk

That should sort it out, failing that, do a screen grab and then post a link,

Mac.

delete them all so that nothing should open,
If anything does open then you probably have a Hijacked Browser.

Also change your opening to open the new tab page,
its the one i always use.

Mac.

well, dont like to count chickens, but I think it is ok now. Bing being the cuprit. also, yes Mac, to open the second tab, it seems they still let you have a picture from Chrome themes on there. one thing seems to have sorted the other, only took 3 days.

thanks for your & Micks help

i will probably get 10 tabs come up now!!!!

I had a virus called Claro hijack my Firefox browser.... what a pain in the *rse to get rid of it. Every time I went to open Firefox, Claro came up...

So I have uninstalled Firefox and am now using Google Chrome, which I find is a tad faster.  Oh well........... Beware of Claro........
