Well, I thought, I cant beat it so may as well do it!!
Around 6 subs all made up of 15x 0.6 secs , red filter, Atik 314L, 6" Mak Cass. Stacked in Registax & mosaiced in IMerge.
I quite enjoyed doing this, as was a change. Had to revise Registax & IMerge. I went outside to pack away as there was high cloud, so not best seeing.

This was using a x2 Barlow. 15x0.6secs, bit fuzzy, but as i say not good conditions.

They are both great Fay. The detail is pretty good considering the conditions i.e. Fay using unfamiliar imaging techniques ;). The Apollo guys would have loved to have such clear shots!
Excellent detail Fay.
Carole
thanks Carole, Duncan, yes re-learning curve
And in Mono (I think) :-?
Excellent images Fay. ;)

As a Loonik, Fay, really love the images. You used a 6" Mak Cass..... would that be the Skywatcher version? I look forward to seeing moonshots like that through my SkyWatcher 6" Pro scope..... when I can use it properly. Just had the mount motorised, but NOT a goto motor, just to track the sky.
Doug.
Thanks, yes, Doug, SW Pro.
Excellent shot Fay, well done. How did you calculate the exposure time for the Atik I was thinking of trying a similar thing ST8300?
Thanks Ivor. I just keep taking shots until i think it is the right exposure. difficult when you have such a contrast on the Moon. The sky was not too good.
I like the larger image, might need to turn down the sharpness a touch though.
Chris
Yes it is too sharp. although does not look this sharp on my monitor. for a bit of practice I will redo
Redone, not so sharp. hope to finish it off with the other side

I agree
Oh great Chris!
Very nice Fay - Would love to see the reprocessed one full size.... The background sky looks a bit 'blocky' on my monitor for some reason but the moon itself is splendid indeed..... John
for you John

well you are not sure how it is going to look as it is like extra exposure when it is bigger and shows up the flaws.................................dig dig dig
So you are now saying that when you go out with no underwear on & expose yourself you are not sure how it is going to look...... ;)...
you got it
Nice one Fay and I agree the reprocess looks much better
