Image date, time and location:   2015-01-19 1:30 50560 Manche France
Telescope aperture and focal ratio:   Nikon ED 70-300mm @ 300mm F5.6
Camera and filters used:   Canon 1000D Modded, IDAS LPS-D1
Processing applied:   Deep Sky Stacker, JASC Animation Shop
Mount: SkyWatcher StarAdventurer on Manfrotto Carbone 1 Tripod, bungeed to a 120ah battery

Can't seem to get a better result in DSS. 300s subs, 5 hours in total.

You've got a nice tail there.

The only way to really do this is to do 2 completely separate stacks for the comet and for the stars, then combine them.  Even then you'll have to do some cleaning up in Photoshop before you combine them.  It's not a procedure for data purists!

A star trail stack from DSS. I prefer this. The gaps in the trail show thin cloud going over.

Same subs etc.

Well done Duncan, i have been waiting to see a good 300sec sub done with the Star adventurer
