Title: Some wide field Constellation shots
Post by: Whitters on Aug 03, 2007, 00:14:47
First shot would have been better if I hadn't kicked the tripod when going for the cable release. and the second wasn't helped by that darn plane coming straight out of Gatwick.

Paul,

Can you identify constellation - Is this around summer triangle... what's the bright star mid top... There is a lot more in these images - I did a stretch on top one & dust bands in milky way etc. are clearly visible - you should adjust levels/ curves on raw... Also when I stretched you can see that there are a few satellite trails right through the image.... :-(

Good shots - John

Hi John,
Big bright star is Vega with the rest of lyra below and to the right. Cygnus is below running bottom left to upper right. The trails on the image without the big bright airplane, are other aircraft trails. I was running the camera with auto darks. Found out last night that there is a big hot spot  :-? if I dont take darks so I'm sending it back to Canon .
