Title: Pink Moon
Post by: Fay on Apr 03, 2007, 09:59:48
Saw red Moon, by time DSLR focus had gone wrong & I was in panic mode, the Moon was pink.
Realised I had a problem when could not get Moon in eyepiece. All alignment stars nowhere to be seen.
Only 3 stars visible, anyway, but thought I would mess around anyway.
Mount error? Uneven ground?
After re Polar aligning & switching on & off a dozen times, putting precise time in etc. At midnight realised my two serious problems.

1. had put 8pm in longitude making it 20.05E
2. Must always wear glasses at night!

Funny how the Moon turned blue after 3 hours of looking for the problem!

Title: Longitude faux pas

It looks like my little longitude error put me just west of Warsaw in Poland!

Is that correct?
